The story of The Healing Tree
This particular tree has grown many new branches over the years, and formed some interesting shapes along the way!
At the tender age of 19, I plunged into taking over a Remedial Massage practice in my home town. I was newly qualified, a single mum, and petrified!
It was a good move however... the business flourished, as did my curiosity about the more subtle reasons people may hold patterns of tension and injury in their bodies.
This led me to study Shiatsu, a form of bodywork based on the theory of Chinese Medicine, so another branch of The Healing Tree sprouted, and these two forms of Bodywork were my main work for several years. I have worked alongside some wonderful therapists offering osteopathy, acupuncture, reflexology, hypnotherapy, and more. A fascinating family of support and learning.
All the while, I had a strong personal Yoga practice which grew to the point where it felt right to become a Teacher... so, just over 20 years ago another branch grew!
My personal Yoga journey has been constant, diverse, and fascinating. Always curious and seeking inspiration, I’ve been blessed to work with some amazing teachers from different disciplines, from all over the world.
Further professional training in Dru Meditation, Therapeutic Sound, and Kundalini Yoga has grown even more branches to the Healing Tree, and has led me to the way I now work, offering Shiatsu treatments, Yoga classes, Meditation classes and several Therapeutic Sound events: Gong Baths, Drum Meditation, Mantra classes and 1:1 Sound Healing sessions.
I also run regular yoga retreats and specialist workshops.
